We must therefore develop solutions to extract more performance out of fewer resources.

Under its SIR market strategy, WITTENSTEIN has already been monitoring resource efficiency for a long time. In other words: Our components and systems in the area of mechatronic drive technology themselves must be resource-efficient and/or contribute to boosting the resource-efficiency of the overall system (such as the machine into which they are installed). WITTENSTEIN's production processes are also energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.

Moreover, the networking of virtual and real worlds contributes significantly to enhanced resource-efficiency. By optimizing these processes, capital, material and energy savings can be achieved.

This pays. Operating costs at the Innovation Factory have been cut it half compared to buildings on the previous site, despite climatization and recirculation of ambient air every 3 hours.

In Fellbach, we are saving 35 percent on energy costs compared to the older plant – with fully climatized production.

For both buildings, we expect to be awarded the Platinum Certificate under the stringent guidelines of the German Sustainable Building Council.

Blue Competence is the registered trademark for sustainable solutions in machine and plant construction, across the full spectrum of industrial applications.

The initiative defines durability criteria and standards and also provides all of the certainty desired for sustainable solutions and products or businesses dedicated to CSR.
