The GACCs serve as the national framework for the GACC offices across the U.S.: GACC South, GACC New York and GACC Midwest. Riehle retains his current position as the Chairman of the GACC Midwest, and in this role will continue to champion German-style apprenticeship programs in the United States.
Commenting on the appointment, Riehle noted, “As an experienced executive of a German subsidiary in the U.S., I have worked to leverage German-American cooperation to the benefit of both our countries’ companies as well as economies. I look forward to providing the strategic leadership needed to support the German 'Mittelstand' companies that are the backbone of the German economy.
Since 2013, Riehle has been President and CEO of WITTENSTEIN Holding Corp. Prior to this current position he held leadership roles at TRUMPF, DMG America (DMG/Mori) and Schaeffler North America after a successful engineering career in Germany.
Outgoing Chairman Caroll H. Neubauer notes, “Peter Riehle has been a strong and involved supporter of the GACCs. He has been an outspoken advocate for German-American cooperation in trade and investment, and our entire organization is excited to drive the GACCs’ mission forward with him."
