Logistics Planner

for WITTENSTEIN Inc. at US - Bartlett, IL (USA)

Responsibilities

Pay Range: $58,000 - $70,000

Primary purpose is to create new, improve existing and support supply chain elements and processes. The focus is to optimize the entire supply chain according to clear lean principles and the company’s strategy. Possible supply chain elements of special interest are for example External Warehouse, External Cross Dock or Distribution Center.

  • Plan, Implement, Control and Improve internal and external supply chain processes from End-to-End (Supplier to Customer, including External Warehouse / 4PL and Cross Dock / Distribution Center).
  • Analysis and optimization of inventory (internal and external) and supermarket levels.
  • Plan / Dimension, Implement, Control and Improve internal material flows with technologies like tugger trains and AGVs.
  • Optimization of supermarket layouts and material flow.
  • Provide recommendations for best practices for executing logistics processes.
  • Logistics-specific project planning and coordination with other departments in the initiation phase of product development.
  • Support operative logistics team in an expert role and where needed.
  • Work and align with internal colleagues from Strategic Business Divisions and Corporate Functions on application of worldwide relevant standards.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field 5 years’ experience in Logistic Planner or similar role area is preferred
  • Certificates in Supply Chain (e.g. ASCM / APICS) or Lean (e.g. Six Sigma) preferred
  • Project Management certifications preferred
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office – emphasis in Excel, Word, Visio and Power Point.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experienced in ERP software (SAP preferred) and shipping software
  • Valid drivers license
