Ternary is the all-in-one linear actuator system from Wittenstein that merges mechanics with intelligence, integrating several separate components:

The ternary provides easy control of position, velocity, acceleration and force, and provides for mid-move velocity changes. Precise control of multiple points eliminates the need for mechanical stops and limit switches.
The actuator uses a brushless servo motor to create its high power and dynamics. This motor turns a precision ballscrew that delivers its force to a stainless steel output rod. The components are controlled via an onboard motion controller that features PLC functionality including loops, trapezoidal motion profiles, and force limits.

Ethernet IP – All the flexibility of Devicenet while eliminating costly Network mapping software and Scanner Cards, the Ternary Ethernet IP interface offers 10/100 MB communication for point to point motion of our position controller. For those already familiar with our Devicenet Command protocol, nothing has changed so you can even have portability of programs between EthernetIP and Devicenet Applications.
